Dramatic Video of 3 PANS Teens Share 3 Year Journey of Treatment & Healing

November, 14th 2024

Hi Reader,

PANDAS Network asked three teens, to share their personal stories of healing from acute onset PANDAS/PANS. They are called our "PANS Ambassadors."

This is a unique, self-discovery documentary conducted over three years to better understand how PANS youth feel as they fight to heal from this often bewildering, lonely, and misunderstood illness. The short documentary doesn't attempt to give a diagnosis or treatment plan - it is for us to listen and engage with PANS youth's personal revelations while healing.

The video is 20 minutes long. Please watch it and share it with others. Stay tuned for an upcoming December Online meeting with our Ambassadors, Jordana, Trent, and Kendall.

Also, Monday, November 25th, 4:30 pm PST a new national youth group has formed to lay out a plan to enact national insurance. The voice of youth is key! Contact nationalpandasyouthalliance@gmail.com The meeting is chaired by college student, Kirk Lord (California).

A Short Film Produced by StoryQ

Rooted in Resilience: A Journey of Growth with PANDAS and PANS is a moving short documentary chronicling the lives of three teenagers—Jordana, Trent, and Kendall—for three years (2020 – 2023) as they share their journey of living with and recovering from PANDAS (Pediatric Autoimmune Disorder Associated with Strep Bacteria) and PANS (Pediatric Acute Onset Neuropsychiatric Syndrome). This film is the result of the Ambassador Program launched by Pandas Network in 2021.

Through home footage and personal stories, the film reveals the daily challenges these teens face, from emotional and physical struggles to the unpredictable neurological symptoms that impact their adolescence. As their health fluctuates, the film highlights their incredible resilience and the importance of early diagnosis and treatment.

A sensitive exploration of illness and mental health, the film also offers resources and support for families affected by PANDAS and PANS, advocating for awareness and early intervention.

Directed by Dr. Rick Stevenson and produced by Story Q, the documentary stands as a testament to the courage of those living with these rare disorders and the dedicated efforts of the PANDAS Network and other organizations to raise awareness and offer hope.
